MOONDANCE

Just had to check in before jumping into bed....^Belle^ is BUSHED! Just got in a few minutes ago from 'Dega. Lawd have mercy! Add a bunch of folks,a race track,lots of beer and barbeque and music and you have a PARTAY! I have a few funny stories from the race today (yes, including one of my Lucy Ricardo moments). I am certain there will be more after tomorrows race. That is the one I'm looking forward to.

Be sure to tune in Monday for all the stories  from the race...including a marriage proposal.....grabbing the wrong man and lost in a crowd......I also hear that Bubba and Nub will be making another appearance this coming week.

 In other news concerning the University Of Alabama's in state rival Auburn....this just in......THE EAGLE HAS LANDED.......FLAT ON IT'S FACE AT JORDAN-HARE STADIUM!!!!!!!! The Tiger offense and defence was pronounced DOA!

Can you dig it.......the number 2 team in the nation (HA....they have only played cupcake teams thus far) Got their butts totally WHOOPED by Arkansas!

In all fairness, Arkansas did beat Alabama a couple of weeks ago. But they did so in double overtime, coming away with a 1 point win. Arkansas 27-Auburn 10.....WAR BUZZARD!!!!!

Even though he doesn't own a computer (he thinks he is too old), I have to wish my beloved Daddy a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Many people find their heros in the movies,comic books,in sports, etc. One of my heros, the one at the very top of the list is my Daddy.




I can count on one hand the number of people I can ALWAYS count on (and still have fingers left over). Number 1 on that list is also my Daddy.

He has been my rock.He has been there to comfort me. To lead and guide me. But most of all, he LOVES me. Unconditionally. He was/is a wonderful father. A loving,caring and devoted husband to my Mother and now to my step-mother.

I realize that he has more days behind him than in front of him. And I intend to never take a single one for granted.

I'll show this to him the next time he comes over. He will lean in to see the computer screen. He will say he doesn't like a fuss, but just between me and you.....I think he likes it a little.

So, Daddy,as you read this just know how very much I love and respect you. I am so blessed that out of all the daddies in the whole wide world......I GOT THE VERY BEST ONE!

TALLADEGA BOUND

Race plans have changed. Instead of going to just the Saturday race,I will be going to the Saturday and Sunday race. Princess decided that the last place she wanted to be on Sunday was at the speedway.

So, once again, I am stepping out of my comfort zone. I NEED THIS! I need to shake off the dust. I need to laugh and be out among the living. I NEED to see Dale Junior win. Believe me, it doesn't go over big at Talladega when Jeffy or Jimmy win!

As I said in yesterday's post, my first race back in the spring, didn't go over so well. For many reasons, one of which was the weather.

I debated about going or not, having decided early in the week to stay put in my cocoon. To hide away. But not this time. ^Belle^ is putting on her PARTAY shoes. Getting back into life.

I will put on hold all doubts,fears and reservations. I have been crawling far too long. I FEEL THE NEED.....THE NEED FOR SPEED....!

"PUT ME ON A HIGHWAY......SHOW ME THE SIGN....AND TAKE IT...TO THE LIMIT....ONE MORE TIME....."

So watch out ya'll......^Belle^ is moving into the fast lane and taking it to the limit!!!!!!!!!!

I hope we are still on for poker tonight. Last week T got on a roll and out of the hole! We play on Yahoo- Texas Hold 'em. Usually in Beginner Lounge 6. We all have pink hair. The first blogger to get there sets up a table. Come join us......Usually begin around 8 pm Central time.

Have a very busy weekend planned. Nascar has rolled into Talladega,Alabama. I am betting (again) on Dale Junior. Anyone but Jeffy (whinebox)Gordon or Jimmy Johnson!

Believe it or not, I went to my very first race at Talladega (such as it was with the rain and all) in the spring.It was really exciting (I guess...don't really remember too much). I will be keeping Trooper Junior for Sunday's race, but have decided to try it again on Saturday with a group friends. Have a brand new Dale Junior shirt and cap just for the occasion.

I hear there is a lot of "flashing" that goes on during race week. I didn't see anyone flash anything in the spring. Come to think of it, I didn't see much of anything at all. I can assure you that ^Belle^ won't be flashing. Though I might show my tattoo.

Going back to the rolling of the dice analogy from yesterday, most people that commented publicly and in PM's agreed, it is time to stop shaking them and just roll em. Big Chris even offered something about "7 come eleven". I still don't know what that means and I am assuming it has nothing to do with the store chain.

Confession is good for the soul, or so I've always heard, so here goes. I'm afraid to roll 'em, but tired of shaking them. On one hand, the shaking keeps things in motion, although in a confined space, keeps the "dream" or "fantasy" in tact. But on the other hand, a dream and fantasy is all it is. The truth and reality is what I live in and with everyday.

I set sail a long time ago on the Good Ship Lollipop headed for Fantasy Island. I have lied to myself for so long. Yes, I'm tired of it, but I'm also afraid of what truths I may uncover on the way to reality, truths about me and my life.

Afraid to look back over the past. Each day it seems I feel the passing of time more and more. It seems to go by faster and faster. Yet here I am, stuck in a time warp of some kind. Afraid to let go of that which I have held onto for so long. So, I wait and continue to shake and rattle the dice.

I am close, very close to the rolling stage. I will arrive at a final decision in a day or two. Or three. The funny thing is, I know what the reality dice will reveal. I'm just not certain what to do about it. I know what I should and need to do. But, knowing and doing are 2 very separate things.

How long will I live on the outer fringes of life? I know how to find my reality. I just don't know what to do once I get there.

For once, the door is wide open. Will I walk through it and face what is on the other side or waste more valuable time?

I always thought that I put myself at the bottom of the list. Only recently did I discover, that too was a lie. I wasn't even ON the list. Well, guess what? Not only am I on it now, but I am at the TOP of the list!
