Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was AWESOME! I promise this week to catch up with you all. Before we get to this week's, DEAR BELLE,I need to rant and rave.
RANTS NUMBER 1:GASOLINE
Gas prices! "Supply and demand", "Supply and demand", or so we have been told is number 1 in determining the price of gasoline. HORSE FEATHERS!
Reading the paper the other day, about a $10.15 per barrel sudden increase, the article made it clear, it had NOTHING to do with "supply and demand", and EVERYTHING to do with a comment made by someone from Morgan Stanley who predicted the price per barrel would be $150.00 by July!
Does anyone else see something wrong with this picture?

RANT NUMBER 2: EBAY
Ebay has made changes to their feedback policy. Sellers can NO LONGER, leave neutral or negitive feedback for buyers. WTF?
What kind of bloomin' sense does that make?
Now, buyers don't have to worry about paying for items they bid on and win. Case in point: I have been waiting since May 20, to be paid for a ring someone won in an auction.
I give 7 days, after the close of the auction to be paid..There was no contact from this gentleman at all. I sent reminders asking him to please communicate with me, tell me if there was a problem, understanding that things happen. Nothing. 10 days later I filed a did not pay dispute. He sent an email requesting my mailing address to send a money order. That was on May 31. How long am I supposed to wait?
EBAY has dropped the ball on this one!

DEAR BELLE:
Got any tips for saving money on my food bill?
ANSWER:
Yes. Coupons is one way to save some money. Only clip coupons for the items that you will use. Some supermarkets have Double Coupon day and it could be worth your while. Other supermarkets sometimes have special, Buy One, Get One Free, days.
If you shop at Wal-Mart, they will match the advertised price of local competitors. Just take in the sale paper from the other store, and present it to the cashier when you are checking out and they will match the price.
I use a lot of ground beef and chicken, so when I find it on sale, I stock up. Ground beef can be divided into 1 pound portions, placed in freezer bags and frozen.
The same thing goes for chicken. A local supermarket places their chicken breast on sale for .99 a pound about once a month. When they do, I snap up about 3 or 4 packs. Most of the time the breast are huge...so I place 1 per bag, they can easily be halved and make 2 portions.
Also, rather than buy a precut chicken, buy a whole one and cut it up yourself at home. The same applies, to boneless, skinless chicken breast.
DEAR BELLE:
I'm in a rut with meal time. Same old things over and over. Any suggestions for something different, quick and easy?
ANSWER:
Sure. Here is something my son, LOVES.
TACO RICE:
Brown 1 pound of ground beef, drain fat, add 1 package of Taco Seasoning (as per directions). To that, add precooked instant rice. I use the 2 and 2 (2 cups water,2 cups rice). Mix together, let simmer for about 5 or 10 minutes.
To serve, top with shredded cheese, sour cream, (basically any taco toppings are good on this). Serve with warm tortilla chips and a can of refried beans.
(This is also good with shredded chicken instead of ground beef. You can make the chicken yourself, or pick up a roasted chicken).
****REMEMBER, IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION FOR, DEAR BELLE, SEND IT TO ME VIA A PM.
