It's good to be back among the living! I was side lined by a mild case of food poisoning for a couple of days. Hopefully my voice will return soon and I will no longer sound like, Marge Simpson (The Yankee's opinion). My Rat Pack all have human names. In fact I named Brooke after the lovely vet that delivered her. Saving her life and Buffy's.

Over the years I think I have hit each category. At the present I have a cat named David Ruffin after the Temptations lead singer of the same name. In the past were 4 dogs named Bear, after who else, University of Alabama coach Bear Bryant (moment of silence please), a cat named Elvis. A dog named BJ for Bon Jovi. Based on appearance was a little dog that
showed up years ago that was all ears....thus his name, Ears.

AND ONE MORE FOR THE ROAD

Something happened to me the moment our eyes met for the very first time. It was as if my heart, mind and soul knew that standing before me that April night in 1995,was the man I had been waiting on all my life.

In that instant, my life was forever altered and the course changed. From that point on, all roads started,ended and lead right to him. Strange things had been at work bringing us together since the first of that year time, after time. 2 voices in the night over the CB and always in the rain. I was soothed by the smooth and strong tone of his voice.

Months later standing face to face, my heart was about to pound out of my chest. "That's him", a still small voice said inside me. Mama K had always talked about finding "the one". I would know without a doubt she would say, the same way she knew that Papa K was "the one".

I didn't have a physical image of "the one" in my mind, but an emotional and mental image. "That's him". I tried to brush the thought aside. Perhaps it was wishful thinking. Or maybe as the Temptations sang, "Just my imagination....running away with me...."

The second time fate stepped in, my reaction and response was even stronger. Sitting across from him that night I knew as well as I knew my own name that falling in love with this man was right around the corner. The thought scared me to death. I didn't want to fall in love with him or any other man.

He never, ever seemed like a stranger. There was something familiar about him. We got along with an ease that comes from knowing someone inside and out over a long period of time. Yet it was there right from the start.

Like a moth to flame, like a bee to honey, I was drawn to this man in ALL ways. Going on 12 years later, I still get butterflies when he walks into a room ,weak in the knees when he touches me and breathless from his kiss. It is physically impossible for me to get close enough to this man.

He is everything I will ever want and all that I need. I love the line in that Glen Campbell song, Wichita Lineman, "....and I need you more than want you.....and I want you for all time...."



I never get tired of looking at him. What can I say....he comes in a very handsome and sexy, USMC package! I would ride with him from time to time while he was driving 18 wheelers. I loved to watch him drive that big ol' truck. Broad chest straining the fabric of his shirt, muscular arms changing those gears and flipping switches (or what ever he was doing). I would admire his perfect profile and the military way his cap sat upon his head. There was no where on the face of the earth I would rather be than right there watching him. I would get so totally lost in everything about him that hours would seem like minutes. The vastness and depth of the love and desire I felt for him washed over me like a tidal wave.




Before him, I was lost. I was as lost as a person can be. I was drifting along in a sea of darkness, tossed to and fro. Like a battered ship, I was searching for the shore.He was the lighthouse that pointed the way home. As you have heard many times, "Home is where the heart is". Now and forever, my heart is with him.
